My life as of now...
Well to give you guys who read this an update on my life lately. If I could sum it up in one word it would have to be CRAZY. I am doing so many things I think I might break soon! haha ok not really. But I am doing two plays. I am a voice interpreter for Arizona Deaf Theatre. It is so much fun! I love all of the people that are in it! I will post more details on the performances if anyone is interested in coming. The second one I am in is called Memorial. It is a tribute to the soldiers who fought in Viet Nam. I only have a small part but I still have to be at the rehearsals. This play is going to be shadow interpreted which means that there is a speaker and a signer for each part. So the signer follows the actor and signs whatever they say. I hope that makes sense. Now I have all of that in addition to school. So that makes me a pretty busy girl. and then I of course have to leave time for fun otherwise I wouldn't be leading a balanced life. Although this weekend I was sick :( that wasn't fun. So I missed quite a few things that I wanted to go to because I pretty much slept all weekend. Now I am feeling a lot better :) Hopefully this week goes well. I am not looking forward to it. I am really wishing it was Winter Break. The thought of that makes me able to handle these next 7 weeks of school. I swear this week will be over the next time I blink. My weeks seem to go by so fast. probably because I don't have time to stop and take a breath. Well I need to go to bed and get my beauty rest. Until next time! Peace Out!

Youth Conference
Since I was SO excited to have the house to myself pretty much all weekend which I actually did when I was home because my brother was always somewhere else. I thought I would post a few things about where my mom and brother were while I was enjoying my alone time.
This is a pic of my mom on this rope swing that was at the place they were camping at. My mom is pretty awesome to go on the swing. She was excited. She told me all about it when she got home. Utah!
WARNING: THIS POST IS VERY LONG AND DETAILED
READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!
So the post that everyone has been waiting for is finally here! Ok well maybe I was just waiting for it. Just an FYI for those who are about to read this I am probably going to have more writing than pics and it will probably be pretty detailed. If you don't like long posts then I suggest you stop reading now. So a week ago Thursday night I had just gotten out of my Educational Interpreting class and had a little bit of a break before I went to rehearsals for Arizona Deaf Theatre. I realized I had gotten a voicemail during class. I listened to it and it was my friend Shaila asking me if I wanted to go with her to Utah that night at 10. So of course I said yes. Hello road trip! I absolutely love road trips! Well I called her back and we decided that we would instead leave at 5 the next morning. I was so thankful for that because otherwise I would have had about 15 minutes to pack by the time I would have gotten home. I stayed up until about 12:45 packing and doing other random things. I got up at 3:30 to get ready to go on our road trip! We decided to leave at about 4:15 so we would beat traffic.
Here is a pic I took at the beginning of our road trip and I had just gotten about 3 hours of sleep. I was tired but excited to get on the road. Shaila came and picked me up and then we hit the road! For the first little while we were just talking and catching up because we hadn't really had a chance to talk recently so that was alot of fun. Then we arrived in Flagstaff around 6:45 we made a pit stop at Frys so we could pick up some snacks because you can't have a good road trip without snacks. When we got out of the car it was FREEZING. I wasn't expecting it to be that old. But unlike Arizona it has been getting cold in other places. So we stocked up on some good food stopped off at good ol Jack in the Box and had breakfast. ( If any of you have really paid attention to my blog then you would probably know that I don't like fast food but I do make the occasional pit stop if I am on the road.) Then we were off again. We had bought a Seventeen magazine so that kept us entertained for about 20 - 30 minutes. I love reading the embarrassing stories in that magazine! Then it was time to bust out the tunes. Well we had already been listening to music but now we were bringing out the good stuff! So we listened to old school girly music. We had *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, and alot more. We were jamming out to the music singing at the top of our lungs it was great! We were making good time when we were almost to Utah it started raining and at points it was hailing as well. It was awesome! I love the rain and it hardly ever rains in AZ. But of course the traffic slowed down because it was raining. And from then on out it kind of went down hill. We would always get stuck behind a slow car and then it would take awhile before we could finally pass it. We had decided that one of the themes from star wars was our song for the trip. We played it a few times when we were passing cars. As we got into Utah the trees were orange and red and brown and it was GORGEOUS! I have never actually seen trees change colors like that. I have lived in AZ pretty much my whole life. I know they change colors in NZ but I have few memories from there. If I travel it is usually during the summer. Anyways I loved the trees and the rain. I was already having a blast and we had barely started our journey. Ok well maybe not barely. Then we hit some construction and there had been a trailer that had flipped. I know the driver was ok because we saw him. We continued driving and towards the end me and Shaila both thought that we would never get there. Finally at about 4:30 pm we arrived at Shaila's mom's house in Alpine. After we got settled in we went down to Provo/Orem area and looked around. It seemed like everyone had plans so we didn't get to hang out with anyone but since we had decided to go the night before that is understandable. Later on we went to the Pita Pit. Oh man their pita's are SO good. Then we went to the Wilkinson Center and ate their. Since it is BYU I ran into some girls that used to be in my ward so it was good to see them. Then about 9:30 we went back to Shaila's mom's house and crashed. I know that's kinda lame but we were really tired and we wanted to be awake for conference the next morning. When we woke up the next morning we had no idea what the day had in store for us. Shaila's mom thought it was going to be snowing. So we got all bundled up in snow clothes and everything and when we got outside it was like Arizona winter. So we unbundled. We left about 7:30 to go wait in the standby line to see if we could get into the morning session. When we got there I called my friend Marinda because I thought that she was waiting standby as well. But she had tickets and it turns out that they had an extra ticket and they possibly had another extra one. Since I had never been to conference before Shaila told me to go and she would wait and see if she could get in. So I rushed over and met her. I was SO excited that I got to see her even though it was for about 5 minutes because our tickets were in different areas. To make a long story short I waited with one of Marinda's roommates and when her friends got there they ended up with 3 extra tickets. I called Shaila and she rushed over and then we got into the conference center a little bit before it started. Anyways conference was AMAZING as it always is. It was even better to be there in person. So here comes the best part of our day. When we had made it back to the car (We had found some amazing parking) this older couple walking behind us came up to is and asked us if we had tickets to the afternoon session. We didn't so they gave them to us. Guess where they were! ON THE FLOOR!!!! We couldn't believe how blessed we were. We knew we were supposed to be going to conference that day. We were completely stoked. Instead of waiting we decided to go and fill up on gas and grab some lunch. We finally picked a place at this outside mall (during the summer would be so fun, during a cold rainy day not so fun) I can't even remember what the name of the restaurant. We had been eating for about 5-10 minutes when Shaila looked at her phone and it was 1:30. My eyes nearly popped out of my head. We had no clue of the time. Man I wish there was a camera to record our exit. We literally were shoving as much of the food into our mouths as we could. Luckily our waitress was AWESOME and let us pay right away (definitely gave her a good tip) and we rushed back to our car. We did not think we were going to make it but after much driving through construction and no parking areas we found a spot fairly close to where the conference center was. We took off our shoes and we sprinted to the conference center. I don't think I have ever run as fast in my life. we made it to the conference center and we had about 10 minutes to get inside. The line seemed to be taking FOREVER. But we eventually made it inside! I think we had about 30 seconds to spare. We could not believe that we had made it it was a miracle I tell ya. I thought conference was amazing the first time. I don't even have words to describe how wonderous this next session was. I could actually see each apostle and the prophet. Oh how I love President Hinkley. I remember how a few weeks ago I was excited to meet Elder Oaks and now I am actually seeing ALL of them with my own eyes. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. After conference was over we we went back to the outside mall and went to this place called Ben's Cookies. We were going to go after we finished lunch but we kinda had to leave in a hurry. But these cookies are FABULOUS. I HIGHLY recommend them whenever you are in Utah or Europe.
Here is a picture of the box of cookies. Oh man I am drooling just thinking about them. Anyways back to the trip. Saturday night was just as uneventful as Friday. We pretty much just ran errands and looked at a few temples.
Here is one of the temples we saw. I can't remember the name of this one. That is kinda sad but there are SO many temples in Utah. After we were done with our errands we started packing and then started watching a movie and then went to sleep.
The next morning we woke up. It had snowed on the mountains. I was excited. It was so beautiful up there. Whenever I go to other places it makes me wonder why I live in Arizona. We packed up and then watched the first session of conference. After it was over we said our goodbyes. We had picked up a few extra passengers for the ride home. We went to Provo/Orem to meet our two other road buddies. They were having some problems and they wouldn't be able to make it for about another hour. So we drove around and Shaila showed me alot of different places up there. and then we started looking at apartments. We decided that we are going to move up there for the summer and go to BYU! I am so stoked. We finally met up with our other road buddies. We were packed and ready to go!

Poor Yoda had the most uncomfortable spot in the car. Although that is debatable. When we were getting settled in the car it turned out that while it had been raining in Utah it had dripped and left a huge puddle in part of the backseat and Brandon got stuck with a wet seat. Well the trip home was pretty interesting. We had been making pretty good time. We came upon a car accident and we ended up being detoured to a dirt road. That was an adventure let me tell ya. There were several HUGE dips in the road. There was this one dip in the road that when Shaila drove into it we got stuck but the guys just pushed it right outta there and I am so thankful that Brandon and Ryan were there because me and Shaila would have freaked. We eventually made it back to the main road. From here on out it was pretty uneventful. We talked and sang to music and ate food and that pretty much sums it up.

So you can kinda see me in this picture. I had no idea it was being taken otherwise I would have jumped into it. Ok well maybe not literally jumped in but you know what I mean.
Man this kid could sleep. He slept almost the whole way. I wish I could do that. But then you miss out on all of the fun!
Our lovely driver Miss Shaila Haymond!
So it was definitely a memorable trip. I am so thankful that we were so blessed throughout this whole trip. I was definitely glad to get home and sleep in my own bed. I would definitely do this again in a heartbeat! Oh I LOVE road trips they are my favorite! Well the good ones anyways! Congratulations to those who read through the whole thing! I give you props! Anyways until next time! Peace Out!

Exciting Week!
Well I was going to blog about my trip to Utah this weekend but I just realized that my mom took the camera with her up to our Ward Youth Conference. So I guess that is out for the moment. I really need to buy my own camera. I only took like 5 pictures in Utah because the weekend was so jam packed that I didn't have time to take pictures. But my trip was AMAZING!!! so I will blog about that when I get the camera back. But I am really stoked that it is just me and my brother this weekend! Time to PARTY! haha just kidding. I wish I could but I have so much going on this weekend that I don't have time to throw a party. Well lets see what has been going on in my life lately. School, School and more School. This week we were interpreting Behavioral Health. My topic was eating disorders. I thought that I had this in the bag because I have written several papers and even done a sign presentation on it before. I was wrong. The questions my teacher asked threw me completely off guard. I felt like I was stumbling through the whole interpreting scenario. I know it probably wasn't as bad as I thought but I felt pretty crummy about it. I am feeling more and more confident each time I go up there to interpret. I used to think of wednesdays as Stress Out Wednesday. but luckily I am not getting as nervous anymore which is good since this will be my profession. I officially have one interpreting class finished and under my belt! Today was the last day of ASL to English interpreting. I am really excited to start English to ASL because that is where I definitely need ALOT of help. Well that is pretty much how my week went. I know this is getting pretty boring because I am starting to bore myself. Well until next time! Peace Out!

It finally happened!
So the inevitable finally happened. After almost 3 years of driving back and forth to Phoenix everyday I finally got a flat tire. My good luck had finally come to an end. I don't know if I drove over something but all I know is from the time I went into class and back out to my car which was about a total of an hour and forty minutes my tire flattened. When I saw it I stood there for a minute. I thought I was maybe imagining it. But it was definitely real. My next thought was "Oh Crap." I had no idea what to do. The last time I had a flat tire was when I was 17 and I was down the street from my house and so my dad came and changed it for me. This time I was all by my little lonesome self. I was the last to leave from class so I couldn't ask any of my classmates for help. So I called my mom and asked her what I should do. She was walking me through it when I got the jack out it was not your typical jack and I had no idea how to use it. Luckily this super nice man came and helped me out. He pretty much changed the whole thing for me. I got really lucky. I did feel kinda stupid though I should know how to change a tire. I do know how for the most part but I always have a hard time knowing where to put the jack. I had another wonderful experience that happened sunday morning. I was getting ready for church and I had just turned my straightner on. I was opening up my curtains and blinds while my straightner was heating up. As I was walking back I stepped on an earring which hurt and I picked my foot up to look at it and then all of a sudden my other foot was burning really bad. I realized that I had stepped on my straightner and now I have a burn on top and bottom of my foot because I stepped right in the middle of it. Just an FYI my room is a disaster right now so if it would have been clean I probably wouldn't have burnt my foot. It hurt pretty bad at first but now it is all better. Well not completely but it doesn't hurt that much anymore. I have been having really good luck so far this week and hopefully I get lucky enough that it doesn't continue. I am glad that I had a flat tire and not gotten into a car accident because I have seen a lot these past few weeks. So I really need to be a careful driver. Also that isn't my flat tire I forgot that I had a camera with me so I didn't take a picture. i was kinda bummed that I forgot. That was my two exciting events these past two days!
