oh. my. gosh. someone please tell me that you remember these books. I used to read them in elementary school and they freaked me out but I couldn't stop reading them. It was like watching a train wreck you know you should look away but you just can't make yourself. The story that I remember the most and probably my favorite was the green ribbon. I found a copy of it for you to enjoy or possibly be freaked out. your choice.
Once there was a girl named Jenny.
She was like all the other girls,
except for one thing.
She always wore a green ribbon
around her neck.
There was a boy named Alfred
in her class.
Alfred liked Jenny,
and Jenny liked Alfred.
One day he asked her,
"Why do you wear that ribbon
all the time?"
"I cannot tell you," said Jenny.
But Alfred kept asking,
"Why do you wear it?"
And Jenny would say,
"It is not important."
Jenny and Alfred grew up
and fell in love.
One day they got married.
After their wedding,
Alfred said,
"Now that we are married,
you must tell me
about the green ribbon."
"You still must wait,"
said Jenny.
"I will tell you
when the right time comes."
Years passed.
Alfred and Jenny grew old.
One day Jenny became very sick.
The doctor told her she was dying.
Jenny called Alfred to her side.
"Alfred," she said, "now I can tell you
about the green ribbon.
Untie it, and you will see
why I could not tell you before."
Slowly and carefully,
Alfred untied the ribbon,
and Jenny's head fell off.

Remember goosebumps. I absolutely LOVED those books and the show. although I couldn't read them at first. I had read a few and became obsessed with them. Then I read one book that was about this boy and a girl and I think there were these dogs and somehow these other kids switched bodies with the dogs. So this boy and girl try to help them but it tuns out that they kinda get screwed over because this boy and girl get trapped in the dogs bodies. I know it sounds weird and I could be remembering it wrong, but I was so freaked out that I couldn't even finish the book. I know this will sound stupid but I felt like if I finished the book I was going to be turned into a dog. hahaha. I don't think I ever finished that book. It took me a while but then I finally got over my fear of the goosebump books and I probably read almost all of them.
It's funny because I used to LOVE reading/watching scary book/movies but I can't really watch them anymore. I think the last scary movie I watched was the ring. Now whenever there is a scary part in anything I usually will put my hands over my face but then I will look through the cracks of my fingers so I can still watch it, but I can also cover my face quickly if I need too. I think I freaked myself out a bit too much.
It's probably fitting that I am writing this at 11:30 at night. Now I can go have nightmares about my head falling off and being turned into a dog. fantastic.
