In ONE week I will be at the airport waiting to get on a plane to head to this place....

YAY!!!  I am so ready to get on that plane. Too bad i'm not leaving today. I have plenty of things left that I need to do so this next week will probably fly by and also inch along. 

Onto another topic AMERICAN IDOL FINALE TONIGHT!!! I am so excited. I haven't watched most of the seasons of American Idol but it seemed that there was never as much talent in the top 2. It was more of a popularity contest. But this season it still has been based on personality and looks, but musical talent is also being taken into account as well. I have no idea how or why some of the past American Idol's were chosen. For example: Taylor Hicks and Rueben Studdard. Both of those seasons it should have been obvious who should have won. Clay Aiken and Katharine McPhee. Both of them have done so much more than the actual winner. Maybe America was trying to vote for the underdog, which is sweet. The American Idol Winner should really have some talent when they win. I'm rambling so about tonight's show. I really don't care who wins because both of them are really talented. My favorite is David Cook. He is definitely the more talented contestant. But I think he would be much better off coming in second. You know that he is going to be offered a record deal the second he walks off that stage. Then he also won't have to do the pop songs that the american idol contract will make him do. David Archuletta is much better suited for that style of music. So either way it plays out will be cool. It's funny I was not a fan of David Cook at all at the beginning of the season. He was just ordinary nothing really stood out about him. Then suddenly he came out of nowhere and I was an instant fan. That guy has talent and there is no denying that. America knows that too. So I think he will walk away the new American Idol. Although David A. has all of the little teeny bopper votes and you know how they can be. No matter what happens David C. will do great things after the show has finished.

9th Grade Dance!

Last night my brother Caleb had the 9th grade dance at his junior high. He decided that he wanted to go all out for this. He wanted to get a bright colored suit so he would be the "brightest" thing in the room. So me being the nice big sister I am helped him out. We had tried to find suits that we could borrow but we were out of luck on that one. So the day of the dance I went around to quite a few different thrift stores looking for the perfect suit. The first one I got to I realized that I was not going to be able to get a whole suit, but I would be satisfied with a good suit coat. These bright suit coats are not that easy to find. I saw so many tweed jackets it wasn't even funny. Too bad he didn't want a tweed suit :) While I was looking around at different thrift stores I was texting caleb. I told him I didn't think I would be able to find exactly what he wanted but I could get close. As I was going to the last few thrift stores, Caleb decided he wanted to go in all white. The last thrift store I went to not only had one bright jacket but TWO!!! I was so excited!! I text caleb and he was thrilled. I didn't want to buy anything without him there. When he was home from school we headed straight for the thrift store. He decided on the yellow jacket. The jacket was a little big on him but it still looked good! He also found a sweet vest to go along with it. He also wanted to find a yellow tie. We went to Walmart and of course no yellow tie. We decided to try a different thrift store. Luckily we found one!! I found some khaki pants to go along with everything. We finally had everything together about an hour before the dance. Phew!! This reminded me of when I was in high school and trying to get everything ready for the dances I went to! Here are some pictures of the finished product!!

The last two are of Caleb and his buddy Chantry. He is wearing his dad's suit that his dad wore in the 70's. It is an authentic 70's suit. It had the bellbottoms and everything! It was awesome! They pretty much had the pimpest suits at the whole dance!
