Happy Halloween!

Here in New Zealand, Halloween isn't really celebrated which is kinda sad. We had absolutely no trick or treaters last night. Now we are left with several bags of candy that might end up adding a couple inches to our waistlines. Our branch had a party down at the beach last night, but it really didn't have anything to do with halloween. They had sports activites set up and a few halloween decorations. There was even a carved pumpkin. The pumpkins here don't look anything like the ones in America. I did see a few random people walking around in costumes, which was awesome!

My mom decorated for halloween and it even freaked a few people out. (I was going to take a picture this morning but by the time I woke up it had already been cleaned up) If you compared our house to some that are decorated in the states, it wasn't even that scary. But for the few decorations they sell here it looked really good. The first person it spooked was Caleb. He was reading while he walked up the stairs. He got to the front door and jumped back and let out a little scream. He was not expecting it at all. The second person was a girl in my branch. She was picking me up to go to the YSA ball. It was the first time she had been to our house and it was dark. When she got to the front door she was really scared to knock on our door. She thought the spiders were real! She went down to the bottom corner of the door and knocked lightly. She didn't click that it was for Halloween until we told her. It was really funny.

I hope everyone is having a fun and safe Halloween tonight!!
